Horror Movie's Re-Make's.

Dear Hollywood,

As a horror movie fan for most of her life, it saddens me to hear about the recent wave of Horror film's you have choosen to remake.

From "Friday the 13th" to my beloved "A Nightmare on Elm Street" to even straight to video  b movie classic's like "Night of the Demon's" are being remade for no other reason then to cash in on their popularailty and the short attention span's of the today's youth who would NEVER admit anything they watch or listen to is a re-mashing of the past.

This also pain's me because I know for a fact that their is a lot of struggling screenwriter's just looking to get their foot in the door with their script's, but you all much rather remake film's that don't need to be remade.

And yeah, some of those 80's classic's are a bit dated, but a lot of these film's were actually low budget indie films. They had no real budget's, and most of the time the sudio's treated these project's as little throw away film's half the time. Not caring what happened to them until.. they made money.

My upcoming marriage to Sarah

I don't know if I ever mentioned this here or not...

My girlfriend and I are getting married this year on Halloween. With the over turning (for now) of the ban on Gay Marriage,we decided to get married. We had thought about it for a while but the thought of staging a "mock" wedding for our friend's/family seemed pointless and it took away from the main point of our day.

We are the same as anyone. We love each other and want to commit our love to each other in front our family/friends and celebrate it.

It seems simple enough to me. I'm a open minded person and always been that way.

So I'm stressed out. It should our day, you know, but you can prevent people from adding their own 2 cent's whether you want to hear it or not.

People are disturbed that we are holding a "Halloween Wedding" rathern than a traditional white on white wedding. Some people think it's respectful of the event.

Okay, honestly, the Halloween theme was picked for 2 reasons!

It's my favorite holiday and my girlfriend know's that and thought it would be cool to celebrate it then.

The other reason is because we felt that no one should be turned away or feel bad for not being able to afford that suit or that bridesmaid dress because they are too broke.

We can relate! Especially with the gas price's being so insane. So why not just come dressed in costume?! It's lending a sense of fun and interaction to the event.

Some people said they didn't feel comfortable acknowledging the fact two girl's are getting married. Bye... Don't need them. They don't need to come.

But for the most part, everyone has been so cool about it. My auntie and my cousin's (who I recently got back in touch with) are my saving grace! They are helping us so much.

We almost decided not to have a wedding because we were having trouble finding a place to have it at, and my aunt stepped up to the plate and saved our asses. They also promised me that if anyone start's anything (From interuppting the wedding with anti gay comments or start fighting, they will get asked to leave.)

It's About Time

Oh thank god!

After two hours of adding html... only to have the graphic I made look either stretched out or tiny weenie.. and a lot of banging my head into my ikea desk, it finally looks decent.

I'm proud of myself. Baby steps.

Now to attempt to add content... but first some quailty time with my itunes library and pink lemonade!!

george carlin r.i.p.

I don't know about you all, but we all have suffered a huge blow today.

We lost one of our rebel's. A true original. A blast of un-politically correctness that came in a form of a man with a beard and ponytail, reminding us about the seven word's you can't say on t.v... or that you can't be both Fine and Dandy at the same time..

I was lucky enough to see George Carlin perform at the Golddust casino in Vegas. I was online looking for thing's to do while I was on my 1st Honeymoon and I came across George Carlin performing @ the Stardust.

I thought to myself, "This is a legend. There is no way in hell I'll ever be able to afford these tickets."

But the ticket's were reasonable and I bought them. My ex husband and I sat in a room that had long table's which I remember was kinda weird since I was expecting a huge theater where we'd way, way in the back... in  the nose bleed section.

But no, we sat at these long table's that were next to the stage. Everyone was packed in so close that it damn near impossible not to try and get to know the people next to you. And they were some really cool people too.

First, a singing comic came out. He was singing weird version's of songs and there was this drunken dude who kept yelling, "FREEBIRD".

(No matter where your at, there's always someone who screams "Freebird" when you ask for requests.)

Then Mr.Carlin came out to a thundering applause. He sat on a little stool at the foot of the stage.

He was not a foot away from my table. I was a foot away from one of the world's most brillant comedians.

He said that he choose smaller venues to test out some new material and by doing to was able to let people see him, who otherwise couldn't see (or couldn't afford to see him) at Madsion Square Garden. He assured us that he wasn't going to water down the joke's or give a half ass version of his show. He gave a 110 percent of himself.. and he didn't have to. I know a lot of celebrities would have came into a smaller venue either drunk or with a bad attiude. He was neither. He said he actually enjoyed the power of a smaller crowd to the huge theater.

He then went into the material that would be "Life is Worth Losing".

The Freebird guy started in again, this time screaming and shouting out random things, mistaking this theater for a Metallica concert.

Mr. Carlin, not losing his cool, looked at the guy. Quietly thanked the man for all his praise but asked him to be quiet so that other people could enjoy the show as much as him.

The guy actually felt sheepish and apoligized to both him and the crowd.

The show was great.. He was sharp, right on the money as usual.

I left that show feeling awe inspired. I saw two side's of the man that night.

The angry bad ass that made me laugh so hard that my side hurts, and the quiet reserved, intelligence side that I think very few ever expected to see.

Summer is Blistering

How are you handling the heat?

If you happen to be living somewhere where the mercury hasn't risen to the 100+ temperature's you damned lucky!

I spent my entire day trying to beat the heat at an air conditioned Wal-Wart. Sarah and I needed (and wanted) some things for the new place.

I swear, no matter how much food, bookcases, table's or chari's we buy, it never seems to be enough. I guess that goes along with this being our first apartment.

Our massive dvd (mostly her's) and cd (mostly mine) collection has runneth over and we just ran out of room. Most reside on the shelf of a broken down IKEA bookcase, while my cd collection collects dust in a box. =(

"Away From Home"

After 27 years of living with my parent's have finally moved out!

"Away from Home" By Klark Kent

I finally got away from home
I got apartment of my own
Eccentric posing is allowed
And I can play the music loud
I'm gonna abuse my brand new pad
My lousy manners are O.K.
I finally got away from home
I got apartment of my own
I entertain my rancid date
And she can hang around till late
Oh boy!

Away from home
O-Oh
I got a place of my own
O-Oh
Away from home
O-Oh
I got a place of my own
O-Oh

And I don't have to hide the fumes
So I don't have to clean my room
And I don't have to hide my toys
Won't hide my dealings
Oh boy

I finally got away from home
I got apartment of my own
Not sure exactly 'bout the rent
My weekly pay won't even dent
Won't hide my dealings
Oh boy Oh boy!
